Standards and Best Practices
LDC’s Catalog is recognized as a trustworthy data repository under the CoreTrustSeal international certification which means that the Catalog meets a series of high standards regarding data access, rights management, curation, archival storage and preservation.
LDC’s data management practices incorporate FAIR principles, ensuring that data is findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.
LDC’s metadata schema reflects established standards (e.g., Dublin Core, the ISOCat Data Category Registry) augmented by standards developed specifically for language resources (e.g., the Open Language Archives Community, META-SHARE). An example of that integration is the related works metadata field in the LDC Catalog which is based on functionalities that store and display related works information and on processes to recognize and add relations between/among LDC resources and external resources.
