Becoming an LDC Member

LDC memberships are designated in the Catalog by year and membership type, for example LDC2024MNP denotes LDC’s 2024 Not-For-Profit Membership. Choose the membership type (standard, subscription) and click Request Membership. The Bin page appears with the selected membership type. Choose to Request More Data or click the Checkout button to complete the transaction.

User Types and Privileges

Guest Users 

Guest Users are entitled to receive LDC’s newsletter, edit their user profile and change the password to their LDC account. Guest users cannot license data. In order to become an LDC member or to license data from the LDC Catalog, Guest Users must register their organization with LDC or indicate their affiliation with an existing organization. 

Guest Users who are affiliated with organizations already registered with LDC may be promoted to Organization Users upon the approval of the Organization Administrator.

To create an LDC account or to access an existing account, visit the User Login page or the LDC Catalog. Each is a gateway for becoming a member, browsing the catalog and ordering data.  

Many LDC corpora contain speech files in NIST SPHERE format. The programs below convert SPHERE files to other formats.

This program is suitable for Windows systems. It converts many files at once. Users may find the batch conversion simpler, but may also find that the program provides less flexibility and control.
