Travel to LDC

Travel by Airplane

Arrive at Philadelphia International Airport and take cab, airport shuttle or regional rail line into Philadelphia. Cabs are available 24 hours a day. There is a flat rate of $28.50 per one way trip for one passenger. Airport shuttles to 36th and Market Streets should cost $10-15. The cab or shuttle should leave you at 36th and Market Street. You can also take the SEPTA R1 Regional Rail high speed train from the airport to 30th Street Station. The fare is $6.00 one way, and there is a $1.00 fee for on-board ticket purchase. More information about this option is available on the SEPTA website. If you take the R1 train, exit at Amtrak's 30th Street Station in Philadelphia and continue with the directions for "Travel by Train" below.

Travel by Train

Arrive at Amtrak's 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. LDC is 6 city blocks (approximately .6 mile) west of the station. To walk (~15 minutes), exit the station on the 30th Street side and continue west along Market Street until 36th. Cab fare from the station to LDC should be about $6.00. Continue with "Finding LDC" below.

Travel by Car

From the Northeast: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to exit 4 for Route 73 North. Proceed on Route 73 North to I-295 South. From I-295 South, take exit 26 of I-76 West. Cross over to Philadelphia via the Walt Whitman Bridge. This section of I-76 is also called the Schuylkill Expressway. Take the 30th Street Exit (345) off of I-76. Turn left (west) onto Market Street and continue to 36th Street. Continue with "Finding LDC" below.

From the Northwest: Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 24, Valley Forge Interchange. Take I-76 East (Schuylkill Expressway) approximately 17 miles to the 30th Street Exit (345) off of I-76. Turn right (west) onto Market Street and continue to 36th Street. Continue with "Finding LDC" below.

From the North: Take I-95 South to I-676 Westbound toward Center City. From I-676 exit in less than two miles taking "exit only" ramp towards the airport marked I-76 East. Proceed to 30th Street Exit (345) off of I-76. Turn left (west) onto Market Street and continue to 36th Street. Continue with "Finding LDC" below.

From the South: Take I-95 North to Exit 13 signed "291 West to I-76". Follow 291 West across the Platt Bridge (the Sunoco refinery to the left) and turn left at 26th Street (which continues as 291) which leads to an underpass which bears left onto I-76 West. Take I-76 West approximately 3 miles to the 30th Street Exit (345) off of I-76. Turn left (west) onto Market Street and continue to 36th Street. Continue with "Finding LDC" below.

Parking Near LDC

On Street Parking

There is on street parking on Market Street, 38th Street, and on various side streets surrounding LDC. The rate is 25 cents for 10 minutes, the maximum time allowed is typically two hours and the municipal employees who check the meters are extremely efficient.

Finding LDC

Linguistic Data Consortium is located at 3600 Market Street, on the Southwest corner of 36th and Market Streets. 3600 is an eight story building on the corner, above Nosh's deli. Enter the lobby from Market Street, get a Visitos Badge from the Security Desk, and take the elevator to the 8th floor. Follow the signs for Suite 810 to LDC, and please ring the bell for admission.
